Cetification for Proffecinals Development

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Certification

The Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) in Ethiopia has initiated a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program to enhance the competencies of health professionals through standardized in-service training. The program’s primary goal is to ensure quality health services delivered by competent professionals while linking Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to license renewal requirements.

Credit Allocation and Requirements

  • Health professionals must earn at least 30 CEUs per year and 90 CEUs every three years for re-licensure.
  • A maximum of 15 CEUs can be earned from a single CPD course.
  • CEUs can only be awarded for a particular course once within a licensure period.
  • CPD points cannot be transferred across budget years.

As a registered CPD provider, ABH offers courses in public health and clinical medicine tailored to the needs of the healthcare system. Since its establishment in 2007 as a training and research institution, ABH has expanded to include customized training programs supported by a dedicated team of experts across various disciplines.

Recently, ABH has broadened its CPD offerings to include internationally accredited courses in Human Resources, Finance and Accounting, Business Administration, Management, and Leadership, aiming to ensure equity and create job opportunities for the younger generation.
